Tarnow City Gallery, together with Kronika Center for Contemporary Arts in Poland and numerous Icelandic partners are organizing a portable film screenings during the Summer of 2011 in Iceland.
Over the course of one month, Polish films from the 1960s and 70s, the ‘Golden Age’ of Polish cinema, will be presented in various sites in Iceland. Starting in Höfn the touring festival’s staff will visit 5 other cities in Iceland, trying also to present four selected movies in untypical places.
During the screening on 10th june in Reykjavik at BÃó ParadÃs, there will be a concert of Gabriela de Silva. Opera singer, who will sing a composition consiting of several melodies taken out of polish movies from 60’s and 70’s.
Scenography for the concert will be designed by a polish artistic group Krzysztofjastrubczakłukaszkaczmarek. Established in 2010 in Kraków, the group mainly deals with
videoperformance and sculpture. Theirs first work was a video titled ÂBuchbuch which dealt with an aesthetics of tv in late 80’s, transformed in the piece in to the several performances documented with VHS camera.
