Many thanks, as always, to Herðubreið Culture and Community Center for their ongoing support and collaboration.
From the Reykjavík Arts Festival’s website:
“Again the Sunset is an experience which occupies the space between concert and performance; a haunted love song that travels through the voice to the body, to raw elements and materials, like an expressive entity without an inherent body.
Two humans put their bodies to work. They work to continue and continue to work, they move what needs to be moved and sing what needs to be sung about deceptive stones, dubious clouds and hopeless histories of love. Words circle around and around like haunting thoughts as the natural elements are met with a sculptural and sonic approach.
Inga Huld Hákonardóttir is one of Iceland‘s most innovative contemporary choreographers and has worked internationally in the field of dance and performance. Yann Leguay is a cutting edge sound artist. In Again the Sunset, these artists come together to create an audiovisual rambling of thoughts on a night of insomnia.”
Please note that in East Iceland Again the Sunset is performed as a concert version.

About the artists
Inga Huld Hákonardóttir‘s work is rooted in performance. She has worked as a choreographer, musician/singer/performer, and as conductor of a contemporary music ensemble. As performer, she worked with choreographer Eleanor Bauer and composer Chris Peck in their Sci-fi musical MEYOUCYCLE. She danced and toured with choreographer Salva Sanchis and performed with the contemporary music ensembles ICTUS. Inga has also made choreographic works in collaboration with other choreographers generally seeking the friction between the symbolic and the sensorial. “Again The Sunset” is a mixed media collaboration with artist Yann Leguay.
Brussels based artist Yann Leguay focuses on the notions of dematerialization, the use of interfaces and everything about the materiality of memory. In his sound practice he has been defined as a “media saboteur” by the Consumer Waste label, seeking to fold the sound materiality in on itself using basic means in the form of objects, videos and performances. He has presented his work in many places and festivals all around Europe and further. Since 2007, he’s also producing installations, sculptures and editions that integrate a critical approach to the meaning of the technological evolution. In concerts he pushes the boundaries of accepted norms of audio behaviour, using uncommon machineries for the playback of audio media. His Phonotopy label proposes a conceptual approach to recording media and he curates the DRIFT series on the Artkillart label. He is also involved in different collective projects as sound and music curator, and participates in graphic designs for books and revues.
