For thousands of years the ocean was defining the limits of the known world. For centuries it has inspired people to overcome the impossible. Today the ocean is connecting nations and ideas and traditions. The Atlantic Biennale: Untold Saga kick-of event at Seydisfjörður invites you to witness the impossible becoming true.
Program:
17:00 Departure from the Bookshop-projectspace
17:30 Island
18:00 Presentation of Atlantic Biennale: Untold Saga at Norðurgata residency, open Studio at Robertas Narkus
19:00 Launch party
Collaborators: Lunga School, Árni Geir Lárusson, The Seyðisfjörður Music School and Times New Roman
The Atlantic Biennale: Untold Saga is the offspring of current Artists-in-Residence Robertas Narkus (LT). Narkus describes his practice as the management of circumstance in the economy of coincidence. He brings together the ordinary and the absurd to explore notions of chance economics, hypothetical experiences and symbolic capital.
The programme is financed by the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism 2009-2014 (www.eeagrants.lt/en/programmes/description/program-description/program/31) and the NAC.
