Skaftfell is delighted to announce its participation in a new international research project, which was officially launched last week at Cove Park residency in Scotland and will continue until 2024. We are very much looking forward to our collaboration with the Nordic Alliance of Artists’ Residencies on Climate Action (NAARCA). The project is co-devised and co-led by Cove Park (Scotland) and Saari Residence (Finland). Further project partners are Arctic Culture Lab (Greenland), Artica Svalbard (Norway), Art Hub Copenhagen (Denmark), and Baltic Art Center (Sweden). Together, we will collaborate on research, art production, institutional change, knowledge exchange and public education around climate action. […]

“In memoriam,” a publication by Anna Vaivare, has reached the President of Iceland
“In memoriam”, a publication by our former residency artist Anna Vaivare, has reached the President of Iceland! The inside of the folded print shows drawings of eleven houses in Seyðisfjörður that were destroyed by a series of landslides in December 2020. Their printed edition was designed by Anna and commissioned by Skaftfell. “In memoriam” can be purchased through Skaftfell – for further information feel free to send us an email (skaftfell@old.skaftfell.is).
