This Tuesday, Oct 16 at 16.30, Skaftfell will host its thirtieth Artist Talk. In this session six international artist will present their work and practice for 15 minutes each. The event will take place in the Skaftfell gallery, in English. Light refreshments will be served. Artists bios Anna Łuczak born in Lodz, Poland, is a visual artist based in Rotterdam since 2005. Graduated from Willem de Kooning Academy, BE, (2005-09) Piet Zwart Institute in Rotterdam, MFA (2011-13) and van Eyck Academy in Maastricht (2017-18) in the Netherlands. All kinds of landscapes
Landscape and nature has always been an inspiration for artists. Icelandic artists Nína Tryggvadóttir (1913-1968) and Gunnlaugur Scheving (1904-1972) are no exception from that tradition. Even though their key works in the exhibition “All Kinds of Landscapes”, Síldarbátur (e. Herringboat) by Gunnlaugur and Eyðimörk (e. Desert) by Nína, are not conventional landscape paintings they do present a kind of a conclusion of these two artists’ development and experiments through the years.
