For the past two years Skaftfell, in collaboration with The Technical Museum of East Iceland and the assistance of many individuals, worked on researching and restoring the House of Geiri. The process is not finished but as a part of the 120 anniversary of Seyðisfjörður Municipality guest are invited to view this unique house.
For the past few years Skaftfell has supervised the visual art class in Seyðisfjörður elementary school, grade 7 – 10. On the West Wall we present projects by 14 – 15 year old students, grade 9 – 10, made in spring semester 2012. They studied the life and art of naive artist Ásgeir Jón Emilsson, Geiri, and sought inspiration to create an art project.
