A warm welcome to Solveig Thoroddsen, Skaftfell artist in residence in February. Solveig is an Icelandic artist, based in Iceland. She graduated from the master study from The Iceland University of the Arts in 2015 and has been an active artist ever since. Solveig works across media and her main subjects are rooted in interactions between man and nature. Her works also focus on society with feminist references. She has published two books of poetry and at the moment she is working on a book where she collects Icelandic folktales with female protagonists, rewriting them in modern narrative style. The book will be illustrated with her works, as she has been focusing on this theme for the recent years.
