Living in the northern hemisphere we have to tolerate the fact that the sun is not a reliable source to tell time, yet it softly eases us into the different seasons with extreme light and darkness. If we were to build our own sundial, how would it manifest? What would it measure?
Four artists travel to Seyðisfjörður during mid-summer to explore the sumer sky with the agenda of creating a sundial. Over one week they will work with various tools, to map out and measure the summer sky, that will result in a sundial.
Tuesday July 17 at 18.00 they will host a sun performance under the night sky as a part of LungA-festival. The exploration will be continued in an exhibition in the Skaftfell gallery, entitled White Sun, this coming November.
